Quebec Travel Guide Overview
Quebec is the only Canadian province where French is the official language. It's the largest province in size and second largest in population. The capital is Quebec City and the biggest town is Montreal. Its French heritage makes the entire province have a very interesting European feel to it, which attract tourists from all over the world.
What to do
There are plenty of Provincial Parks (National Parks as you know them in US) to check out. Some are really small but some are quite extended, offering a lot of things to do. Also, make sure to check the gardens: Jardins de Metis and the Montreal Botanical Garden.
Quebec is the home of many festivals and events. You can choose between a Jazz Festival, International Flora, Loto-Quebec International Fireworks Competition, Winter Carnival and many other festivals. There are also plenty of sporting events to watch.
You might not travel for the cuisine but in this case, you should. Quebec has a very interesting mix of cuisine, with the French one being the base. However you'll find Greek, Italian and Jewish cuisine at its best here. And by all means, do try the maple syrup (tip: buy some from the farmer's market to take back to the US!)
Getting there
The main getaway into Quebec is Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport ( YUL), which is Canada's third busiest airport. It's the headquarter for 3 major Canadian airlines which means finding a flight to Montreal is very easy.

There are plenty of hotels in Quebec to choose from. Also, the backpackers can choose among the hostels in Quebec or other budget accommodation.
