Oklahoma Travel Guide Overview
The Sooner state, Oklahoma's recent pioneer past and location in the middle of the Great Plains has greatly influenced the panhandle state. Oklahoma has strong ties to Native American culture (it was the end point of the famous Trail of Tears) and has a city with one of the fastest growing economies in the United States. Although not a heavily populated state, Oklahomans' dedication to football is palpable and both the University of Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma State Cowboys draw an astounding number of fans, averaging well over than 60,000 people per game.
