Ocean City, New Jersey is, unsurprisingly, a town on the polluted Atlantic. A popular vacation spot, it offers some of the best surfing in the state.

During the summer, the city booms with families taking a break from the chaotic smog of Philly and NYC - but who still want to be surrounded by food, shopping and other amusements.

The epicenter of action is the city's always-amusing boardwalk. During the day, children tire themselves out playing arcade games and bumper cars while teenagers come out in droves during the evening to escape the watchful eyes of their parents and smoke an illicit cigarette. Adult entertainment comes in the form of eating, drinking, and clubbing. Those wishing for more exiting pursuits can head an hour away to the East Coast's version of Vegas, Atlantic City.
