Itinerary
Day 1 - Ndarakwai Game Reserve
Today you will driven to a tented lodge on Ndarakwai Game Reserve, near the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Ndarakwai Game Reserve is a tented lodge on a game reserve filled with animals. On a any given night, zebras, elephants, giraffe walk through the middle of camp.Day 2 - Tribal Village Tented Camp
Quick briefing in the morning, and then early departure to begin safari. Today we are going to head out to Lake Eyasi, home of the one of the last hunter-gather societies that follow the migration of the animals. Their language resembles the click languages of other bushmen further south in the Kalahari. They live entirely off the bush and from hunting, generally small antelopes and baboons, although in rainy seasons gazelles and antelopes come down from the Ngorongoro or Serengeti to their then lush bush lands offering them richer pickings. This is a great stop on the long route to the Serengetti. There are opportunities to go on a walking safari with some of the bushmen. This is a very raw intense experience, prepare to be a bit shocked.Day 3 - Lake Manyara Lodge
Depart Lake Eyasi for Lake Manyara National Park, which is only a few hours away. When we arrive, we will have a game drive and picnic lunch in the park. Lake Manyara lies serene, spreading in a heat haze backed by a thin green band of forest and the sheer 600 metre red and brown cliffs of the escarpment.Day 4 - Ngorongoro Crater Lodge
From Lake Manyara we will travel to the legendary Serengeti National Park. This will be about a four to five hour drive, driving on the Rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.Day 5 - Serengeti Lodge
We have a full day of game drives in the Serengeti from sunrise to sunset, exploring hippos pools, looking for lions, and discovering animals around every corner. This is the day we will try to head to the migration.Day 6 - Serengeti Lodge
This is another full day exploring the migration of the animals. This is a safari from sun up to sun down. You can drive in one direction in the Serengetti and never see the same place twice. It has the highest concentration of animals almost anywhere in the world.Day 7 - Crater Lodge
Begin with an early morning departure through the Serengeti and head to Ngorongoro Crater.Day 8 - Crater Lodge
After breakfast, we begin with a sunrise game drive, which is always rewarding to watch the animals eating early in the morning. It will take around 1.5 hours to get to the bottom of the crater. Around mid-morning, we drive for a picnic lunch near a lake at the bottom of the Ngorongoro Crater. After the picnic, we will begin our slow ascent to the rim.Day 9
We will begin with an early morning game drive through Tarangire National Park and head back to Arusha, Moshi or Kilimanjaro International AirportAsk the Expert
