Itinerary

Day 1 Adelaide

Browse for antiques in markets or indulge in one of Australia's most famous wines at Penfolds Magill Estate Winery.

Day 2 Flinders Ranges

Journey into the rusty, rugged gorges, abandoned homesteads and ghost gums of the Flinders Ranges National Park. Hear ancient outback legends at Yourambulla Caves, then roll out a swag and enjoy a campfire dinner under the stars.

Day 3 Iga Warta Aboriginal Community

According to Dreamtime legend, two giant snakes coiled together to form the massive wall of the Wilpena Pound, but get the full story from the Adnyamathanha people and learn about their culture by the campfire.

Day 4 Oodnadatta Track

Follow the old Afghan camel route into the heart of Australia. Get the know-how to find the best bush tucker. Then cross the dingo fence and quench that thirst in an outback pub.

Day 5 Coober Pedy

Step carefully - this hole-pocked outback town is famous for opal mining and underground dwellings.

Day 6 Simpson Desert

Head into one of Australia's most remote and arid regions, an area of stark beauty and remarkable contrasts.

Days 7-8 Uluru (Ayers Rock)

Cut through the heart of the continent and prepare to be awed by the sight of Uluru. Circle the base of the rock to learn about its spiritual significance and witness its changing colours at sunset.

Day 9 Kata Tjuta/Kings Creek Station

Hike the eerie Valley Of The Winds before spending the evening under the stars at a working cattle station among red sand dunes and desert oaks.

Day 10 Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon)

Trek past sandstone domes, towering cliffs and refreshing rockpools. Search for the elusive thorny devil lizard.

Day 11 Western MacDonnell Ranges/Alice Springs

Cool off at Ellery Creek Big Hole then toast the journey in Alice Springs.
