Itinerary

Day 1 Livingstone/Victoria Falls

The adventure begins in Livingstone, gateway to the thunderous waters of Victoria Falls. Feel the spray and marvel at the tremendous roar of the mighty Zambezi River toppling into the river below. Arrive early to make the most of the optional adrenalin-fuelled activities on offer in Livingstone. Go white-water rafting, bungee jumping or even gorge swinging.

Day 2 Chobe National Park

Take one last look at the mist-shrouded falls before boarding a ferry across the Zambezi River into Botswana. It's not far to the Chobe National Park, a sprawling stretch of lush forest that shelters some of Africa's largest elephant populations. It's also home to the African fish eagle - try to spot one of these white-headed predators on a late afternoon cruise down the Chobe River.

Day 3 Nata

Travel through Botswana's rippling grasslands to the Makgadikgadi Pans, a vast and awe-inspiring salt expanse. During the wet season, spot vast flocks of flamingos wading in the water-filled pans. At night, keep watch for furry bush babies who often descend from the treetops to visit the campsite.

Day 4 Polokwane Game Reserve

Head straight from one wildlife haven into another, travelling to the Polokwane in time for a dusk safari. Look out for the rare white rhino and exotic antelope species including the sable and eland.

Days 5-6 Kruger National Park

Spend two nights camping in the Kruger National Park in search of Africa's Big Five: lions, elephants, Cape buffaloes, leopards and black rhinos. Take up an optional night drive to spot nocturnal wildlife.

Day 7 Johannesburg

Leaving the Kruger behind, head to Blyde River Canyon to enjoy awesome views over this mighty sandstone expanse. Arrive in Johannesburg, South Africa's commercial capital, in time to head out on the town, or maybe grab a bite to eat and recount tales of this African adventure.
