Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi

The adventure begins in Kenya's capital.

Day 2-3 Mto Wa Mbu

Tour farmland to meet the locals and discover African village life.

Days 4-5 Serengeti National Park

Exploring the mighty Serengeti grasslands is a quintessential African experience. Listen out for lions roar while scouring the plains for the Big Five.

Day 6 Ngorongoro Crater/Karatu

This extinct volcanic caldera offers the chance to spot big cats, elephants, zebras and a wealth of other African animals.

Day 7 Marangu

In Mt Kilimanjaro's foothills, visit the inspirational Amani Children's Home for former street kids. Enjoy delicious traditional food and panoramic lowland views.

Days 8-9 Usambara Mountains/Lushoto

Gaze over the mountainous landscape and enjoy a farm-fresh lunch with locals.

Day 10 Dar es Salaam

Camp on a balmy beach outside Tanzania's bustling port city.

Days 11-13 Zanzibar

Explore the exotic bazaars and historic architecture. Dazzle senses in fragrant spice plantations, then lounge on sandy white beaches.

Day 14 Dar es Salaam

Catch a ferry back to the mainland.

Days 15-16 Iringa/Chitimba

Spy elephants, giraffes and prowling big cats in Mikumi National Park. Continue through Tanzania's highlands to Malawi, one of Africa's friendliest countries.

Days 17-18 Chinteche Beach/Lake Malawi

This shimmering lake is the country's lifeblood. See fishermen plying its still waters at daybreak. Relax on peaceful, less-frequented beaches, or splash out on water sports.

Days 19-20 Luwawa Forest Lodge

Walk, cycle or canoe through this rarely visited part of Malawi and enjoy warm hospitality on a village visit.

Days 21-22 Chipata/Lusaka

Cross the mighty Luangwa River.

Days 23-24 Livingstone/Victoria Falls

Watch the spray of thunderous Victoria Falls, then try some invigorating adventure sports on and around the water.

Day 25 Chobe National Park

Elephant spotting is a highlight of this lush wetland. Cruise the Chobe River and perhaps see fish eagles swooping for prey.

Day 27 Polokwane Game Reserve

Discover the salt expanse of the Makgadikgadi Pans.

Days 28-29 Kruger National Park

Safari through the vast, legendary Kruger.

Day 30 Johannesburg

Spectacular views from Blyde River Canyon are an exhilarating finale to this south-eastern adventure.
