Itinerary

Days 1-2 Kathmandu

Walk through Kathmandu's maze of bazaars and maybe visit Durbar Square, home to the Kumari Devi or 'living goddess'.

Days 3-5 Chitwan National Park

Explore the Chitwan National Park by foot and jeep to experience some of the best wildlife viewing in Asia. Spot rhinos, deers, monkeys and even wild Nepalese chickens.

Day 6 Lumbini

The final stop in Nepal is at the border town of Lumbini. It was here that Siddhartha Gautama, better known as Buddha, was born.

Day 7 Varanasi

The change of scenery from Nepal to India is immediate - you know you are in India when you are greeted by holy cows cruising along the highway.

Day 8 River Ganges Boat Trip

What better way to experience the sacred River Ganges than by boat?

Days 9-10 Varanasi

One of the oldest living cities, Varanasi is a hive of religious life and colour. Wander through the monasteries of nearby Sarnath or just sit by the river and be entertained by the constant flow of activity.

Days 11-12 Orchha

By the banks of the Betwa River sits Orchha, an historical masterpiece of stone temples and palaces. Explore the grand stone buildings untouched by modern life and scattered across the countryside.

Day 13 Agra

Visit one of the finest monuments ever constructed, the Taj Mahal. The 'teardrop on the face of eternity' was built as a memorial for Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan's wife.

Days 14-15 Delhi

India's capital is alive with historical sights, museums, galleries and endless bazaars. The ruins of Qtab Minar, the Indira Gandhi Museum and Birla house are all worth visiting.
