Days 1-2 Venice
Wander through romantic Venice, with its piazzas, marketplaces and charming narrow streets. Take the time to see the Grand Canal, the Palace of the Doge and the beautiful Bridge of Sighs.Days 3-4 Lake Garda
There are many energetic options in mountainous Lake Garda - go for a walk on one of the plentiful hiking trails, rent a bike to explore the vineyards and olive groves, or take a cruise out over the calm blue waters. Simply kicking back lakeside and exploring the shops is another option.Days 5-6 Cinque Terre
Travel by train to the lovely seaside town of Riomaggiore, start of the scenic trail that leads through the picture-perfect villages of the beautiful Cinque Terre. Walk this coastal path or cruise between them on a local ferry.Days 7-8 Florence
Once the heart of the Renaissance movement, Florence has many sights to explore. See Michelangelo's David, wander the galleries of the Uffizi or climb the Duomo for spectacular views over the city. A day trip to Pisa to climb the famous Leaning Tower is also possible.Days 9-11 Naples
The port town of Naples is the gateway to the ruins of Pompeii, the Amalfi coast and the sleeping volcano, Mt Vesuvius. Explore the vibrant streets of this historic town, and be sure to try some pizza - it's reputed to be the best in the world.Days 12-14 Rome
With its striking blend of ancient and modern, the city of Rome is a delight to the senses. From the opulence of the Vatican to the ruins of the Forum, the sights of the city are easily explored on foot.
