Itinerary
Day 1 Nairobi
The adventure begins in multicultural Nairobi, East Africa's highest, youngest and largest city.Days 2-3 Loita Hills/Masai Mara
Travel through the scenic Great Rift Valley to the Loita Hills and make camp among the proud Masai tibespeople. Head out on a short walk in the hills with a warrior guide to learn about the tribe and their fascinating culture. Travel to the world-famous Masai Mara Reserve and take a safari through its woodlands and savannah plains to try and spot the Big Five.Days 4 -5 Kisii/Lake Victoria
After a game drive to spot lions, giraffes and elephants, head to the shores of enormous Lake Victoria to cool off.Days 6-7 Serengeti
Cross the border into Tanzania - it's time to go on safari and spot more of Africa's amazing wildlife. Journey through the rock outcrops, river valleys and vast plains, keeping an eye out for predators and herbivores such as zebras, giraffes and gazelles. Most animals sleep during the heat of the day, hiding in long grasses, making them hard to find. That's why we head out on safari drives early in the morning and late in the afternoon, when wildlife is active.Day 8-9 Ngorongoro Crater/Snake Park
Explore the Ngorongoro Crater - an ancient, extinct volcano - with a local guide to see some of the region's 30,000 resident animals. Camp out at Snake Park where there is a chance to see animals of a more slithery nature.Days 10-11 Marangu/Village Visits
Meet the kids from the Amani Children's Home, an organisation dedicated to educating orphans and homeless children. Playtime at Amani is always fun! Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local house afterwards, then try catch a glimpse of snow-capped Mt Kilimanjaro on the scenic route to Arusha.Day 12 Tsavo
Travel through the homelands of the Akamba people, known for their skill in trade, to Tsavo. The largest national park in Kenya, Tsavo is home to buffalos, zebras, leopards and lots more so keep your eyes peeled. Spend the afternoon game viewing in Tsavo West where the environment is well-watered as this factor, combined with the richness of its volcanic soil support a vast quantity of diverse plant and animal life.Days 13-15 Mombasa
Relax at a beach resort that overlooks the magnificent white sands of the Indian Ocean. Wander through the resort's lush gardens, play a spot of tennis or head to the beach to swim or just chill out. It's possible to try any number of optional activities, like archery, Swahili lessons, scuba diving or even sport fishing for an adventurous end to to this East African family adventure.Trip Details
