Itinerary
Days 1-2 Marrakech
Against a background of snow-capped mountains and a minaret-studded skyline, Marrakech is an exciting town to start the adventure. Head out to through the vibrant streets for a guided tour of the town's famous and not so famous sights. Soak up the vibrant atmosphere at Djemaa el-Fna at night, where you can see colourful local acts performing everything from snake charming to acrobatics.Days 3-4 Essaouira
Swap the bustling streets of Marrakech for the laid-back lifestyle of seaside Essaouira. A favourite artist's retreat, this town is suitably picturesque. Whitewashed buildings with blue shutters, formidable fortress ramparts, pristine beaches and labyrinthine laneways that wind their way through the medina. Take a guided tour through the town to get an historical perspective then enjoy time to explore at your own pace.Day 5 El Jadida
Although its name means 'the new one', El Jadida is in fact a lovely old town. Sitting on the coast the town's medina is quite European in style. Its walled village offers some interesting Portuguese style churches and chapels to explore. Join the locals to stroll out along the sea front in the evening.Days 6-8 Fez
Join a local guide for an orientation of Fez's winding medina. Visit the tannery with its iconic view of dye pits, see potters producing their craft at a ceramic factory and wander by the majestic palace. There's time to explore at your own leisure as well. Exploring the rambling alleyways of the medina is like stepping back to medieval times. An ideal way to end your Moroccan adventure is to watch the sun set over the huge medina while hundreds of mosques call to prayer.Trip Information
