Itinerary

Day 1 Lima

Arrive early to see all the sights of vibrant Lima.

Day 2 Pisco

Stroll along Pisco's lively peatonal (pedestrian avenue) then relax in a local cafe.

Days 3-4 Nazca

Take an optional boat tour of the amazing Ballestas Islands, a nature reserve for pelicans, flamingos and sea lions. Then it's on to the desert to see the mysterious Nazca Lines.

Day 5 Arequipa

Dazzlingly white Arequipa is oozing with Spanish colonial charm. Take in the architecture or visit the interesting Monasterio de Santa Catalina.

Days 6-7 Colca Canyon

Enjoy expansive views at Colca Canyon: it's twice as deep as the Grand Canyon. From Chivay, take short hikes throughout the canyon, exploring this magnificent natural wonder.

Days 8-9 Cuzco

Inca-built walls line the central streets of fascinating Cuzco.

Day 10 Sacred Valley

Stop at the town of Pisac, perched high on a hilltop overlooking the fertile Sacred Valley. Keep an eye out for llamas on the way to historic Ollantaytambo.

Days 11-14 Inca Trail/Cuzco

The Inca trail is dotted with history. View the ancient ruins of Llactapata, an inn burnt to the ground by the last Inca Emporor. Then, trek to the incomparable Machu Picchu.

Day 15 Cuzco

Optional mountain biking and hiking options abound - or just rest those trek-weary legs at Plaza de Armas.

Day 16 Puno

Visit the Yavari - a ship, museum and bar all in one - to learn its interesting history.

Days 17-19 Puno/Lake Titicaca

Visit the isolated Uros floating islands, built from many layers of the totora reeds that grow in the shallows of the lake. Enjoy a homestay on the lake.

Days 20-21 La Paz

End this adventure in market-filled La Paz.
