Itinerary
Days 1-2 Bangkok
Ancient temples stand by towering skyscrapers in Bangkok's exciting, crowded streets. Visit the incredibly ornate Grand Palace, home of the beautifully carved Emerald Buddha, and navigate the maze of khlongs in a longtail.Days 3-6 Khao Sok National Park
Explore Thailand's best rainforest in the 646 sq km Khao Sok National Park. The eco-system here is said to outdate even the Amazon and is absolutely gorgeous. Sleep in floating rafthouses on Chiaw Lan Lake and wake to the sounds of gibbons calling from the surrounding mountains. Take a walk through the jungle to a fantastic cave temple and learn the legends behind it from the locals. Hit the walking trails to discover waterfalls and rivers or take an optional elephant ride.For trips that run from May to Oct (East Coast)... Days 7-10 Homestay/Ko Pha Ngan
Enjoy a taste of rural life and help the locals plant mangroves or search for clams at a homestay. Travel along the coast by longtail boat and explore the magnificent beaches and coral bays of the Ang Thong Marine Park.Days 11-13 Ko Samui
Famous for its party atmosphere and magnificent beaches, Ko Samui is the ideal island getaway. In between swimming and relaxing, head out on a sightseeing trip. See the Big Buddha and the Mummified Monk, swim at a refreshing local waterfall and enjoy lunch at a clifftop restaurant where it's possible to observe the island's most stunning views.For trips that run from Nov to Apr (West Coast)... Days 7-8 Krabi
Try your hand at rubber tapping and enjoy the great food and hospitality at a homestay. You might even want to pitch in and help with the cooking, a great way to pick up a few tips about Thai cooking! In the beach town of Ao Nang, there is the option of sea kayaking or enjoying some rock climbing amid amazing limestone scenery. Witness a beautiful sunset while dining on seafood at an oceanside restaurant, followed by a night of Thai boxing or simply enjoying a drink in one of the many beach bars.Days 9-13 Trang Coast/Andaman Sea
With white sandy beaches and clear waters, the beaches of the Trang Coast can't be beaten. Swim, snorkel, kayak and keep an eye out for dugongs, as this is one of the world's best breeding grounds for these gentle marine animals. It's possible to head out on a bike ride, take a nature walk or try out kayaking. Camp out and slip into the relaxed pace that typifies southern Thailand.Days 14-15 Bangkok
An early arrival in Bangkok leaves time to check out markets or shopping centres, catch a river ferry or relax with a Thai massage before a final farewell dinner.Trip Details
