Day 1 Arrive Cape Town
Arrive in Cape Town at any time.Day 2 Cederberg (B,L,D)
Discover the surreal landscape of Cederberg, a rocky wilderness where giant sandstone boulders have been sculpted by wind and rain into bizarre and artistic shapes.Day 3 Gariep River (B,L,D)
Enter Namibia and the arid regions. After an afternoon of leisure, set up camp at Gariep (Orange) River.Day 4 Fish River Canyon (B,L,D)
Journey to Fish River Canyon, the largest canyon in Africa. Watch a spectacular sunset slip over the canyon's rim.Day 5-6 Namib Desert (2B,2L,2D)
Towering red sand dunes of Sossusvlei form the gateway into the Namib Desert. Explore Sesriem Canyon and watch dramatic sunsets over the world's highest sand dunes.Day 7-8 Swakopmund (2B,L)
Lunar landscapes and prehistoric Welwitschia plants surround the coastal town of Swakopmund. Explore and try optional quad biking/dune boarding.Day 9 Damaraland (B,L,D)
Move north into the desert landscapes and camp near Twyfelfontein. Explore the area, which is adorned with rock engravings and petrified fossil forests.Day 10-11 Etosha National Park (2B,2L,2D)
Etosha National Park, known as "the great white place of dry water", lies at the game-rich northwest corner of Namibia, with great wildlife spotting. Take game drives in search of elephants, antelope and lions gathering at the waterholes.Day 12 Windhoek (B,L)
Head south to the capital of Namibia. Meet new people joining the next part of the tour.Day 13 Kalahari (B,L,D)
Cross into Botswana and into the heart of the Kalahari. Take a walk with a local San Bushman to learn fascinating wilderness survival skills.Day 14 Maun (B,L,D)
Camp in Maun in preparation for an unforgettable journey deep into the Okavango Delta by mokoros (dugout canoes).Day 15-16 Okavango Delta (2B,2L,2D)
The Okavango Delta Excursion is an experience not to be missed. Camp under the stars on remote islands and enjoy once in a lifetime game walks, birdlife and game viewing in this pristine wilderness area.Day 17 Gweta (B,L,D)
Continue to Gweta and camp under ancient Baobab trees.Day 18 Chobe National Park (B,L,D)
Chobe National Park has Botswana’s most varied wildlife, including lions and elephants.Day 19-20 Zambia / Victoria Falls (2B)
Tour Victoria Falls, a natural wonder of the world, plunging into the Zambezi Gorge. Try rafting on the mighty Zambezi or for the adventurous, there's an 111m bungee jump.Day 21-22 Gweta (2B,2L,2D)
Cross into Botswana towards Gweta and the Makgadikgadi Pans. The surrounding grasslands are home to an impressive array of wildlife.Day 23 Maun (B,L,D)
Travel to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta.Day 24 Ghanzi (B,L,D)
Travel to the capital of the Kalahari, Ghanzi. It appears to be in the middle of nowhere, separated from the world by hundreds of kilometres of sand.Day 25 Gaborone (B,L)
Journey to the sparkling capital of Botswana, Gaborone. The surrounding area is famous for diamonds.Day 26-27 Pilanesberg Game Reserve (2B,2L,2D)
Travel to Pilanesberg (National Park) Game Reserve, the crater of an extinct volcano, and home to Africa's big 5. Take part in one of the optional night drives.Day 28 Johannesburg (B,L)
Explore Johannesburg, the economic heart of South Africa and the largest city.Day 29 Blyde River Canyon (B,L,D)
Head east towards Mpumalanga through a landscape characterized by mountains, panoramic passes, valleys, rivers, waterfalls and forests. Camp the night in Blyde River Canyon.Day 30-31 Kruger National Park (2B,2L,2D)
Welcome to "Big 5" country - exciting game drives offer excellent wildlife viewing, in one of the last great African wildernesses.Day 32 Marracuene (B,L,D)
The journey continues to Mozambique with a stop in Marracuene - a popular resting stop for people traveling through southern Mozambique.Day 33-34 Inhambane (2B,2L,2D)
Enter Mozambique and pass through the Old European settlement of Inhambane, with memories of the slave trade along the coast.Day 35-36 Maputo (2B,L)
Journey south to Maputo, a fascinating city that has a definitive Latin flare.Day 37-38 Kingdom of Swaziland (2B,2L,2D)
Enter the Kingdom of Swaziland, where you can go horse riding, mountain biking, game viewing or visit a Swazi Village.Days 39-40 Zululand (2B,2L,2D)
Visit the Umfolozi Game Reserve, a safe haven for both the white and black rhino, and the rest of the "Big 5".Day 41 Durban (B,L)
Relax on the sandy beaches and swim in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.Day 42-43 Drakensberg Mountains (2B,2L,2D)
We move further south to the base of the Drakensberg or (Dragon) Mountains. Hike the beautiful mountain stream paths, search for Bushman rock paintings or just enjoy the views.Day 44-45 Hogsback (2B,2L,2D)
Leave the Southern Drakensberg for a scenic drive to Hogsback. Spend the next two days relaxing in the serenity of the mountains, or hiking along the many trails in the area.Day 46 Addo Elephant National Park (B,L,D)
Addo, the valley of elephants and roses, lies in the Lower Sundays River Valley, stretching from the Indian Ocean to the Zuurberg Mountains.Day 47-48 Tsitsikamma (2B,2L,2D)
Visit Tsitsikamma National Park. Relax on the beach, or do some shopping. For the adventurous, optional activities include abseiling, sea kayaking, mountain biking, and bungee jumping.Day 49 Outdshoorn (B,L,D)
Travel over the Outeniqua Mountains into Outdshoorn, in the Little Karoo region. Explore the Cango Caves and take an optional tour of an ostrich farm where you can ride one of these huge birds.Day 50 Stellenbosch (B,L)
Savour a day of wine tasting, and wine buying and taste the South African way of life.Day 51 Cape Town (B)
Our journey loops full circle back to Cape Town. Re-visit your favourites or climb Table Mountain. Do some last-minute curio shopping or just laze on the beach in the Cape's sunshine.Trip Information
