Vic Falls to Jo'burg Overland

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Livingstone

Arrive in Livingstone at any time. Be sure to arrive early and allow time to explore Victoria Falls.

Day 2-3 Gweta (2B,2L,2D)

Cross into Botswana, travelling to Gweta, between Nata and Maun and ideally located for trips to the Makgadikgadi Pans. The Pans was the centre of a great lake but now is one of the world's largest salt pans. Surrounding grasslands are home to an impressive number of antelope attracting a variety of predators.

Day 4 Maun (B,L,D)

Travel to Maun in Botswana. Known as the gateway to the world's largest inland delta, the Okavango. There is an optional afternoon game drive in Maun Game Reserve.

Day 5 Ghanzi (B,L,D)

Today we move south to the capital of the Kalahari, Ghanzi. The town appears to be in the middle of nowhere, eerily isolated from any other towns by a hundred kilometres of sand.

Day 6 Gaborone (B,L)

Journey to the capital of Botswana, Gaborone. Spend your free time visiting the National Museum or just enjoying the surrounding area, which is famous for diamonds.

Day 7-8 Pilanesberg Game Reserve (2B,2L,2D)

Travel to Pilanesberg (National Park) Game Reserve, the crater of an extinct volcano, and home to Africa's big 5. Take part in one of the optional night drives.

Day 9 Johannesburg (B,L)

Travel to Johannesburg, the largest city in South Africa. Optional excursions to Soweto or the Apartheid Museum are recommended.
