Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Chengdu

Arrive in Chengdu at any time.

Day 2-5 Lhasa

Explore the centre of the Tibetan world - a fascinating blend of temples and pilgrims, ancient and modern.

Day 6 Gyantse

An ancient trading town dominated by an impressive fort - its monastery complex, one of Tibet’s finest, includes the fascinating Gyantse Kumbum.

Day 7 Shigatse

This is Tibet’s second most important city with a richly spectacular and extensive monastic complex.

Day 8-10 Saga to Darchen

Follow the road west across grasslands and passes culminating in the first spectacular view of Kailash & Manasarovar.

Day 11-13 Kailash & Lake Manasarovar

Embark on the toughest part of our journey, the 2.5 day Kailash kora or hike. The highest pass is 5600m. The distinctive snow-topped pyramid of Kailash stands apart and distinct from those around it, dominating the landscape.

Day 14-16 Paryang to Lao Tingri

Cross the grasslands, skirt the shores of beautiful Paiku Tso Lake and the towering mass of Xixiapangma (8012m) to the small town of Lao Tingri.

Day 17 Rombuk & Everest Base Camp

The view of Qomolangma from the world's highest monastery is incredible.

Day 18 Nyalam

Cross one of the most spectacular mountain passes, topped with prayer flags and wind-driven prayer wheels. You will truly feel like you are on top of the world.

Day 19 Kathmandu

The historic cities of the Kathmandu Valley reveal a vibrant world of colour and life. The markets, bazaars and narrow streets are home to holy men, sacred cows, bicycles, street sellers.
