Itinerary
Day 1 Quito/Riobama
Your morning bus journey arrives at Cotopaxi National Park where you will take a short hike to the Jose Ribas refuge area. From here there are brilliant views of the highest active volcano in the world - Cotopaxi rises to 5,897 metres. Return to the bus and travel to Riobamba City for your overnight stay.Day 2 Devil’s Nose/Quito
This morning embark on a rail trip across the highlands visiting several villages along the way. Revered as "the most difficult train in the world” for its sheer massive drop, this masterpiece of engineering zigzags its way across the high cliffs of the famous Devil’s Nose. The railway winds its way around curves and tunnels from Riobamba to Alausí, a distance of only 26 km, but a drop in elevation of over a thousand metres! This impressive descent down a steep cliff is a breathtaking experience that concludes in Alaust Village for your transfer back to Quito.Trip Details
