Itinerary

Day 1 Casablanca

Spend an afternoon admiring art-deco and Moorish architecture in this lively French-influenced port city.

Day 2 Rabat/Moulay Idriss Village Stay

Arrive by train to Rabat and spend the morning exploring the old quarter of a town that was once a refuge for pirates. Travel to a sacred pilgrim village and enjoy local hospitality at a family-owned guesthouse.

Days 3-4 Fes

Explore the Roman ruins of Volubilis before lunching in the opulent imperial city of Meknes. In Fes, discover the medieval wonders of a city suspended in time - traverse winding alleyways, smell out the local tanneries and enjoy a sunset over the whitewashed medina.

Days 5-7 Chefchaouen/Tangier

Stay in a traditional Moroccan riad and relax awhile in this charming mountain hamlet. Grab a dinner of fresh bread and fish in seaside Tangier.

Days 8-9 Marrakech

Discover spectacular Moorish architecture and tropical gardens in the chaotic city of Marrakech. Leave time to soak up the sights and sounds of the souqs - a captivating sensory experience.

Day 10 Imlil/Aroumd/High Atlas Mountains

Ascend to the peaceful village of Aroumd. Get acquainted with local customs and hike through mountain countryside.

Day 11 Ait Benhaddou

Watch a golden sunset paint the graceful Ait Benhaddou kasbah in deep red hues. This fortified village is one of Morocco's must-see structures. Tonight, learn culinary secrets from a friendly local.

Days 12-13 Zagora/Sahara Desert Camp

Forge through rough terrain to the epic Erg Chigaga sand dunes. Ride a camel before a nomad-style night under desert stars.

Day 14 Taroudannt

Travel through the desert to a red-walled town and look out for goats climbing argan trees. Browse the souq overflowing with Berber wares or end the day cycling the clay ramparts.

Days 15-16 Essaouira

Learn the cosmopolitan history of this picturesque artists' town. Explore its markets and galleries, shopping for trinkets or trying the myriad delicacies. The town's numerous pleasures include bathhouse pampering, beach walks and sampling freshly caught seafood.

Days 17-18 Marrakech

Spend time exploring this colourful city. Watch the goings-on in Djemaa el-Fna or reflecting on this Moroccan adventure in the beautiful Majorelle gardens.
