Itinerary
Day 1 Panama City/Gamboa Resort
Arrive and transfer to Gamboa Resort. Enjoy the rest of your night at leisure. Gamboa Rainforest Resort is a luxury destination resort located on the Panama Canal, in the heart of the lush Panamanian rainforest. Our resort has been carefully designed to provide a variety of educational and adventure experiences. Exploring the rainforest has never been easier, since all of our attractions and most of our tours are found right on our property, or only minutes away from your doorstep.Gamboa Rainforest Resort is located within the Soberania National Park, 30 minutes away from Panama City on the Pacific Coast, and 30 minutes from the Colon Free Zone on the Caribbean. It also lies along the banks of the Chagres River and Gatun Lake, the main water sources for the Panama Canal and part of Panama's most precious assets.Strolling along the pathways and trails located throughout the resort, you'll discover a variety of educational exhibits, each designed to explain a different element of the rainforest. You can visit the freshwater fish aquarium, orchid and botanical gardens, butterfly nursery, a reptile exhibit, historical and cultural displays, or sign up for various nature and observation tours. For a bird's-eye view of the Soberania National Park and Panama Canal, climb aboard our specially designed aerial tram and glide quietly through the rainforest canopy where you'll encounter plants and animals rarely seen by visitors on the ground.Day 2-3 Gamboa Resort
Today we join our naturalist guide in this lake adventure of sight and sound. First, travel at high speed on small boats northbound on the canal for 25 minutes where we might come close to some of the big ships that transit the canal daily and then we slow to a cruising speed. Slowly we motor along the forested banks of Gatun Lake, also a protected area. As we look for wildlife such as Capuchin Monkeys, 3 toed sloth, Howler Monkeys, various kinds of Toucans and other birdlife. Truly a unique place to observe. Spend the rest of your time at this luxury destination as you please. Optional activities include: bird watching, canopy tree trek, river boat cruise, rainforest hikes, village tour or a tour of the Panama Canal and Panama City.Day 4 Gamboa Resort/Panama City
