Itinerary
Day 1 El Calafate
Arrival at El Calafate airport; meeting and transfer to the hotel. Lago Argentina, discovered in 1873, is the southernmost of the four waters sheets produced by the Pleistocene Glaciation. With its fjords and fingers it covers 935 sq miles, and is considered one of the most breathtaking lakes in the world. The Perito Moreno Glacier is an imposing river of ice of 1,7 miles wide by 180 ft high, which descends from the continental ice field to the Canal de los Tempanos. "Los Glaciares" National park, the most renowned in Argentina, was created in 1973 to preserve this vast glacier area, where we can also find the Upsala Glacier and the incredible Onelli Bay, declared "Mankind Inheritage" by the UNESCO.Day 2 El Calafate
In the early morning we will go to Los Glaciers National Park. We will skirt the main body of Argentino Lake and we will go to Brazo Rico. Once in the park we will go on the "Curva de los Suspiros", where we will get off the vehicle to have a first view of Perito Moreno Glacier. Later, we will stop at the Bajo Las Sombras Pier so that we can get near the glacier's southern wall. Next we will go to the front catwalks of the glacier, and we will watch it from different balconies and enjoy our free time to appreciate its various detachments, before returning to El Calafae.Day 3 El Calafate
The day is free for optional activities, including: a full-day excursion to Upsala & Onelli glaciers or Estancia Cristina adventure tour. Early morning departure to Puerto Bandera to embark for navigation along the waters of Argentino Lake. In the afternoon, return from Puerto Bandera by land to El Calafate.Day 4 El Calafate
