Itinerary

Day 1 Tambopata

You will be met at the Puerto Maldonado airport for your trip to the lodge. Situated on the banks of Peru’s Madre de Dios River in the heart of a private ecological reserve, this elegant rustic resort provides a memorable introduction to the ancient Amazon rainforest. In the afternoon, take a short familiarization hike and venture on a boat excursion for a magical evening river tour.

Day 2 Tambopata

You'll have an early start today - board a boat for a morning excursion to nearby Sandoval Lake for some excellent wildlife viewing. You're likely to see endangered giant river otters, red howler monkeys, red-bellied macaws, and point-tailed palm creepers. Don’t be surprised if you catch a glimpse of a giant anaconda snake or the side-neck turtle that reside in the lake. The afternoon is a time for discovery as you will learn more about the wetlands and walk through the treetops on a guided canopy tour. After dinner enjoy a lively presentation.

Day 3 Cuzco / Lima

On your final day in this extraordinary rainforest you will visit a butterfly farm in Puerto Maldonado. There are 3,800 species of butterfly in Peru and many of the colourful and exotic species can be found at the farm. Finally depart for the airport for your flight to Lima or Cuzco.
