Itinerary
Day 1 Cuzco/Manu National Park
We start our trip in the early morning leaving Cuzco in our private bus. During the journey enjoy the impressive landscape, passing small communities. Leaving the colonial village Paucartambo behind, you will reach the Acjanacu Pass (3,550 m), the entrance to the Manu National Park. Ajanacu is where we will distribute all gear needed to start biking. The steep and bumpy road plunges down almost 2000 m on this spectacular 50km path to the lush, sub-tropical cloud forest of San Pedro. This afternoon we reach our lodge, enjoy the magnificent views, relax or explore the unique cloud forest.Day 2 Manu
The early morning is the best time for bird-watching and observation of other animals of the Cloud Forest. You might see the Andean Cock of the Rock (national bird of Peru), toucan, quetzal, tanager and motmot as well as woolly monkeys, brown capuchin monkeys or night monkeys. The Manu Cloud Forest is also habitat of the rare spectacled bear, the jaguarondi, ocelot, puma, weasel, otter, squirrels and a big family of rodents and bats. After breakfast travel by bus back to Ajanacu pass. This afternoon bike from Ajanacu to Paucartambo village. Settle in to our lodge and enjoy a visit to the kids project and a bonfire.Day 3 Manu/Cuzco
This morning offers another opportunity for the observation of the Cloud Forest’s wildlife. After breakfast you will take the bus to Huachuqasa Pass (4,170 m) where we start riding down to Pisaq town. An easy, smooth ride will have you in Pisaq in time for lunch. After lunch we travel by bus back to Cuzco.Trip Details
