Itinerary

Day 1 Guatemala City/Antigua

Arrive in Guatemala City and transfer to Antigua.

Day 2 Antigua

The colonial town of Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is where Mayan and modern cultures meet. Overlooking the Agua Volcano, its bustling streets and exquisite buildings radiate an Old World charm amid a valley of volcanoes.

Day 3 Panajachel

Explore Panajachel on the shores of the breathtaking Lake Atitlán with gorgeous views of three volcanoes. Take a boat trip and visit Santiago to explore.

Day 4 Chichicastenango

Visit the most famous market in Central America.

Day 5 Quetzaltenango

Surrounded by volcanoes in the western highlands, this city is the country’s second largest and home to the Quiché Maya people.

Day 6 Quetzaltenango/La Democracia/Guatemala City

Explore the La Democracia Archaeological Site. This tour will reveal remains from the Olmeca culture. Later return to Quetzaltenango for more cultural tours then transfer to Guatemala City.

Day 7 Flores Peten/Ceibal

Depart for the airport and fly to Flores Peten and transfer by boat to the Ceibal archaeological site.

Day 8 Tikal

Visitors to the famous ruins and the surrounding national park often describe the experience as “magical.” You’ll understand why once you hear the forest creatures.

Day 9 Rio Dulce

Transfer from Flores and take a boat trip on the “sweet river.”

Day 10 Rio Dulce

Enjoy a riverboat trip and visit San Felipe Castle, a 16th century fortress. Continue to Livingston and visit the Chocon Machacas wildlife reserve.

Day 11 Quiriguá/Guatemala

Visit the Quiriguá archaeological site and in the afternoon transfer to Guatemala City.

Day 12 Guatemala

Travel from the hotel to the airport for departure.
