Fly to Oaxaca in southern Mexico where you will check in to your hotel before spending the afternoon at leisure. (flight is not included)Day 5 Oaxaca

Once inhabited by the Aztecs, this bustling UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to a diverse group of indigenous peoples including the Zapotec and Mixtec. Spend a full-day visiting the archaeological sites of Monte Alban and Mitla.Day 6 Oaxaca/San Cristobal de las Casas
Depart for the airport and fly to Tuxtla Gutierrez (flights are not included, please ask). Travel by bus to the Indian village of San Cristobal de las Casas. Along the way visit the Sumidero Canyon.Day 7 San Cristobal de las Casas
Enjoy a full-day excursion to the mysterious Indian villages of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan. Later spend free time touring the historic streets of San Cristobal de las Casas.Day 8 San Cristobal de las Casas/Palenque
Visit the Palenque archaeological site with a stop en route at the Agua Azul waterfalls.Day 9 Palenque/Merida
You can explore sites missed the previous day touring the Palenque ruins. Later head to the Villahermosa airport for your flight to Merida.Day 10 Merida
