Itinerary

Day 1 Buenos Aires

Discover the barrios (neighbourhoods) of Buenos Aires, like the football-crazy district of La Boca, with its atmospheric pedestrian walk, local artists and great cantinas.

Days 2 Colonia

Ride a ferry across the Rio de la Plata to Uruguay and to the impossibly cute Colonia. Indulge in its many restaurants and enjoy the great river views.

Days 3-4 Montevideo

Head to the Mercado del Puerto for food, hang out with local musicians and enjoy the relaxed vibe in this laid-back capital city. There are lots of great museums here, like the Casa Rivera with a panoramic painting of Montevideo in the days of old.

Days 5-7 Ranch stay

Things are simple down on the ranch - and you are sure to love every moment of this stay on a local estancia. Helping out with farm chores is a highlight, and could include anything from sheep herding to working in the garden.

Days 8-10 Iguazu Falls

Why not cross by launch boat to the Isla San Grand Martin for a unique view of the mighty falls?

Days 11-12 Parati

Head to the coastal town of Parati to explore the many trails and waterfalls of the surrounding national parks.

Days 13-15 Island Getaway

A blend of tropical beaches and rainforest, the Ilha Grande is a spectacular place to getaway. Hike through the steamy forests to discover Praia Lopes Mendes, Brazil's most beautiful beach.

Days 16-17 Rio de Janeiro

Check out the live music scene in the artistic and bohemian suburb of Santa Theresa, or watch the sun set over Ipanema beach with a beer in hand.

Days 18-21 Salvador

Discover the pulsating samba rhythms, African cultures and colourful streetlife of Salvador, in the state of Baha.

Days 22-23 Olinda

Experience the charming hospitality of gorgeous Recife and Olinda, bohemian cities with plenty of arty offerings.

Days 24-25 Natal

Set on the tip of Natal's peninsula, the star-shaped fort of For dos Reis Magos is a must-see. Also worth a look is the nearby lighthouse and local aquariums.

Days 26-32 Rio Grande do Norte/Ceara

Traverse small beach towns, fishing villages and spectacular coastline on a journey through the bright and sunny Rio Grande do Norte. Optional activities, like sandboarding, kiteboarding and windsurfing abound.

Days 33-35 Piaui/Maranhao

The remarkable Parnaiba Delta is an unforgettable landscape of sand dunes and crystal lakes. Enjoy the colonial Old Town of Sao Luis, an old slave port that has retained its African culture.
