Days 1-2 Kashgar
Wander the trading city of Kashgar to discover the legends of the Silk Road. Visit the famous Sunday Market, where traders from all over Central Asia come to hawk their wares. On the same day is a busy livestock market, a sight not to be missed.Days 3-4 Karakul Lake
At 3,800 m above sea level, Karakul Lake will literally take your breath away. Be amazed by the glowing blue waters of the lake, set at the foot of the dramatic Pamir Mountains. Hike in the countryside to meet the Krygyz who graze their sheep in nearby pastures. Sleep in a traditional yurt to really experience the local culture.Days 5-7 Yarkand/Kashgar
Journey to the edge of the Taklamakan Desert on the way to Yarkand, a 1,000-year-old resting spot for Silk Road travellers to spend the night. Absorb the character of Muslim Xinjiang. Wander the narrow bazaars of the Uyghur quarter or arrange a camel ride out into the dusty desert before returning to Kashgar.Trip Information
