Live the life of an elephant mahout, trekking through some of northern Thailand's most remote and rural regions, through rainforests and tucked-away hilltribe villages. Sleep in bamboo huts at night, help to prepare meals and carry all your own gear. This is also a chance to meet some of the world's most fascinating minorities - including the Karen, H'mong and Lisu - each boasting their own distinct dress, customs and language.
With a famous bazaar and over 300 temples to explore, there's always something to see and do in this cosmopolitan capital of the north.
Dasy 2-4 Elephant Mahout Course
The most interesting ethnic minority villages are tucked away in the hills of northern Thailand and are best reached on an overnight walk through forest and rural terrain - just remember to pack light! Traverse tropical rainforests, stopping to peek into traditional huts, talk to local villagers, enjoy dinner al fresco in the jungle and sleep in bamboo huts at night.
