Day 1-2, New York & Washington DC
We head out of the "Big Apple" onto Washington DC, the perfect introduction to the social, cultural and political history of the United States. Stand before the awe-inspiring monuments and explore the world renowned museums, such as the Smithsonian. From the Shenandoah Mountains to the lush, natural beauty of the Appalachian Mountains - home to the American black bear and former haunt of the Cherokee Indians. Looking for a bit more excitement? Thrill to whitewater rafting, before entering the "Deep South" and the State of Mississippi.Accommodation: Camping includedDay 6-7, New Orleans
Into the enchanting French Quarter of New Orleans! Ride a steamboat on the Mississippi River, enjoy traditional jazz at Preservation Hall or sample a Hurricane at Pat O'Brien's! New Orleans has more than just food, drink and music to offer. Join a swamp tour into the alligator habitat of southern Louisiana, to view all sorts of wildlife on the mysterious bayous of Cajun country.Accommodation: New Orleans hotel approx.
