Itinerary
Day 1-2, Seattle & Mount Rainier National Park
Journey to the heart of the Cascade Mountains, Mt. Rainier National Park. Many hikes will be on offer considering there are over 300 miles available on the parks' network of trails, everything from easy walks through the forests to heart pounding climbs up to the mountain's glaciers. Of course just relaxing at the scenic campground or visiting the information centres is also an option.Accommodation: Camping includedDay 3-6, Idaho, Montana & Yellowstone National Park
Through Idaho into Montana's Big Sky Country, with plenty of time to marvel at everyone's highlight, Yellowstone National Park. View explosive geysers and colourful waterfalls while exploring the world's oldest and most famous national park. Keep your eyes peeled for the abundant wildlife. Large herds of bison and elk roam the park and bears and wolves are also present.Accommodation: Camping includedDay 7-8, Grand Teton National Park & Jackson
Next, wonderful views and hikes await in majestic Grand Teton National Park. The mountains here rise up sharply from the surrounding valley (known as Jackson Hole). Our walks here allow you to either meander the shores of pretty alpine lakes beneath the Teton Mountains or to head uphill for outstanding panoramic views. Next we visit a truly western town, Jackson, Wyoming. Raft the wild Snake River and mountain bike in alpine splendour, then dance the night away at the Million Dollar Bar.Accommodation: Camping includedDay 9-11, Nevada & Lake Tahoe
Leaving America's most majestic mountain range, the Rockies, we cross back through Idaho and arrive at Nah-So-Pah with ample time to relax in it's natural hot springs. We venture into the Sierra Nevada Mountains for a chance to sail on crystal-clear Lake Tahoe on a sunset cruise, and try your luck at Ceasar's Palace casino.Accommodation: Camping includedDay 12-14, Yosemite National Park & San Francisco
Heading through Central California we take a scenic drive into the Yosemite National Park region and a chance to hike, bike, or float through the extraordinary landscape of glacier-carved granite monoliths, spectacular waterfalls and groves of giant Sequoia trees - the largest living things on earth! If you want a real challenge, try the 17 mile round trip hike to the top of Half Dome! On our last day together we head back west through California's gold country, where in 1848 the finding of a single nugget triggered a stampede of gold-seekers known as the 49'ers, before arriving at the home of the beatnik generation, San Francisco.Accommodation: Camping included.Tour ends at 18:00 hrs in San Francisco on day 14.Trip Details
