Day 1, Los Angeles & Death Valley National Park

Leaving Los Angeles we traverse the immense Mojave Desert into Death Valley National Park. Discover the beauty behind the names of such glorious sights as Golden Canyon, Dante's View and Zabriskie Point.Accommodation: Camping included

Day 2-3, Las Vegas

On to an incredible man-made wonder in the desert - Las Vegas! "The City That Never Sleeps" boasts excellent variety shows, roller coasters, discount shopping and extraordinary architectural facades, as well as its famous bright lights, casino gambling and non-stop nightlife.Accommodation: 2 nights hotel included

Day 4-5, Grand Canyon National Park

Just when the scenery seems unbeatable, journey to the Grand Canyon, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Walk along the rim, hike down a canyon trail, or take a scenic flight; whatever the choice, it will forever create a vivid and indelible memory of this special place.Accommodation: 2 nights hotel approx US$45 pppn in multi-share rooms paid locally.

Day 6, Monument Valley

Monument Valley, a land of classic western scenery, is the Navajo Nation's greatest natural treasure. Take a jeep tour with the Navajo guides into remote areas made famous by scores of celebrated western movies.Accommodation: Camping included

Day 7-11, Wild West Cowboy Camp, Tombstone, El Paso & Big Bend National Park

Leave the cities behind for five days of desert wonderland, from a wonderful 'once in a lifetime' experience at our secluded cowboy camp, the saguaro cactus-studded vistas of the Sonoran Desert and the remote splendour of Big Bend National Park.Accommodation: Camping included

Day 12-13, San Antonio & Texas

Head west into Texas for historic San Antonio and home of the Alamo, a symbol of Texan pride.Accommodation: 2 nights hotel approx US$45 pppn in multi-share rooms paid locally.

Day 14-15, New Orleans

Next is New Orleans, the place everyone loves to visit, with its exciting nightlife, great music and that special French flavour. Explore the enchanting French Quarter, ride a steamboat on the Mississippi River, enjoy traditional jazz at Preservation Hall or sample a Hurricane at Pat O'Brien's!Accommodation: Hotel included

Day 16-17, Memphis & Nashville

We head to Elvis' home town, Memphis. Tour Graceland or stroll along Beale Street to see the influences that Blues and Jazz music has had on America. A short distance away is the center of American country music in Nashville, Tennessee. Learn to country dance, walk the riverfront or shop at the many stores downtown.Accommodation: 1 night Nashville hotel approx US$45 pppn in multi-share rooms paid locally & 1 night Memphis hotel included.

Day 18, Appalachian Mountains

Hiking, horseback riding and exploring caves are some of the activities awaiting you amidst the lush, natural beauty of the Appalachian Mountains.Accommodation: 1 night hotel included

Day 19-21, Washington DC & New York

The nation's capital, Washington, DC is next and an evening tour of the illuminated monuments. The following day is free to explore the famous Smithsonian Museums, the Capitol Building, or even the White House itself.
