Day 1-3, San Francisco, Yosemite & Central California

Bidding San Francisco a reluctant farewell, head east through California's gold country, where in 1848, the finding of a single nuggettriggered a stampede of gold-seekers known as the 49'ers. Then, a scenic drive into the Yosemite National Park region and a chance to hike, bike, or float through the extraordinary landscape of glacier-carved granite monoliths, spectacular waterfalls and groves of giant Sequoia trees - the largest living things on earth! If you want a real challenge, try the 17 mile round trip hike to the top of Half Dome!Accommodation: Camping included

Day 4, Las Vegas

Next, Las Vegas - the greatest show on earth! Cruise "The Strip" in style with the included limousine tour, then indulge in an all-you-can eat buffet, take in a show or just watch the amazing crowds, neon and attractions that many hotel casinos have to offer. And if that's not enough, take a helicopter flight down The Strip or just gamble the night away in one of the world class casinos.Accommodation: 1 night Vegas hotel approx US$45 pppn for multi-share rooms paid locally.

Day 5-7, Grand Canyon, Colorado River & Los Angeles

Leaving Las Vegas, explore America's premier National Park, and find out why it is called the Grand Canyon. Visit the viewpoints, hike the trails, or take a scenic flight for a bird's-eye view - no matter what, you will not believe your eyes. Then, drop down into the desert for a lovely last evening along the Colorado River, before heading to the City of Angels for a tour of Hollywood and our final destination.Accommodation: Camping included.Tour ends at 18:00 hrs in Los Angeles on day 7.Flexible Night StopsThe itinerary shown is intended as a guide only indicating a typical itinerary & series of activities.
