Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Kolkata

Arrive in Kolkata at any time.

Day 2 Kolkata

The best way to experience Kolkata is to surrender yourself to the chaos and just go with it. Wake at dawn and go for an early morning wander through the famous flower markets to discover the British influence on the "City of Joy".

Day 3-4 Puri / Chilika Lake

Wander the old streets of Puri with its thousands of pilgrims. Discover the ancient secrets of the nearby Sun Temple at Konark and unwind on the tranquil waters of Chilika Lake, the largest brackish water lake in Asia.

Day 5 Chariot Festival

The chariot festival, or Rath Yatra, at Puri is one of India’s most colourful events. Tens of thousands of local Hindus pull three massive chariots through the streets of Puri. The chariots feature images of Lord Jagannath- the Lord of the Universe- and his brother and sister and are pulled to a temple 3 km away. The devotional act is performed annually in honour of the journey of Lord Jagannath as he traveled from his temple in Puri to the countryside.

Day 6-7 Puri

Enjoy Puri’s wonderfully wide white-sand beaches or head to one of the nearby villages that specilaize in the traditional handicrafts of Orissa.
