Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Delhi
Arrive in Delhi at any time.Day 2 Delhi
Dive into the heart of India’s capital to explore both Old and New Delhi. Visit Delhi’s famous Jama Masjid (Great Mosque) and climb the minaret for a bird’s eye view of the old city. Walk through Chandni Chowk, one of India’s oldest and busiest markets, discover the variety of spices at the spice market and learn the history of the Sikh religion at the Gurduwara. In the afternoon, discover the legacy of the British Empire in New Delhi including Connaught Place and India Gate.Day 3-4 Almora (Kumaon Region)
The captivating town of Almora offers up expansive views of the spectacular Greater Himalayan Range, including peaks such as Trishul and Nanda Devi. The town is small enough to wander through and there are opportunities to pick up some of the locally crafted tamta products (hand-beaten copper and brass utensils plated with silver) in the busy little local markets.Day 5-6 Corbett National Park
Situated along the valley of the Ramganga River and fringed by the Himlayan foothills, Corbett is considered one of India's finest wildlife sanctuaries. The park is renowned for its remarkable variety of wildlife including the tiger and elephant plus more than 600 varieties of birds!Day 7-9 Varanasi
Travel on to legendary Varanasi, the Indian holy city where millions of Hindus travel to worship, mourn or die. Walk through the narrow twisting alleyways, visit some of the thousands of temples and shrines, and experience the energy of the dawn rituals of bathing and burial as you float past the famous ghats of the Ganges.Day 10 Agra
Agra is home to India’s most famous landmark, the Taj Mahal. Visit this icon of Mughal architecture - and most famous tribute to love - either in the early morning or late afternoon to take advantage of the best light.Day 11-12 Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri
Travel back in time as you walk through the red sandstone courtyards of Fatehpur Sikri. In Jaipur, visit India's second most viewed site, the Hawa Mahal, or Palace of the Winds. Follow in the footsteps of the royal harem, ride an elephant to the Amber Fort Palace clinging atop a rocky hill or groove along to the singing and dancing of a Bollywood film at the art deco Raj Mandir cinema.Day 13 Delhi
