Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Colombo

Arrive in Colombo at any time.

Day 2 Kandy

Get up close with the elephants at the orphanage centre in Pinnawala. Continue on to Kandy, the ‘capital’ of the hill country, a relaxing lakeside town surrounded by hills and tea plantations.

Day 3-7 Kandy Perahera

The significance of this great event is to invoke blessings of the gods to give the farmers rain to cultivate their crops. Thousands of drummers and dancers perform, accompanied by a parade of ornamented elephants. The leading tusker carries the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha through the streets, while the spectators pay homage to it. We also have time for day trips to Nuwara Eliya and Adam's Peak while the perahera takes place.

Day 8 Depart Colombo

Depart anytime after 12pm (noon).
