Stellenbosch and the Garden Route

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Cape Town

Arrive in Cape Town at any time.

Day 2 Cape Town (B)

Spend the day in and around the Cape Town, the "Mother City", exploring the famous Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.

Day 3 Bonte Bok National Park (B)

Head to Bonte Bok National Park, home of the nearly extinct Bontebok antelope. En route, stop in the picturesque town of Hermanus, and admire the views of the dramatic South African coastline.

Day 4-5 Plettenberg Bay (2B)

Marvel at the dramatic coast enterring Plettenberg Bay. You'll have some free time here to enjoy this trendy resort town. Visit the Diaz Museum and Drosdy Museum (included). Options here include mountain biking, canoeing, nature walks, taking the Tsjoe Choo Train (from George to Knysna), or simply strolling the beaches or in and out of the numerous boutiques.

Day 6-7 Oudtshoorn (2B,2D)

Take in the wonders of the South African landscape as you travel over the Outeniqua Mountains into the Little Karoo. In Oudtshoorn, visit the Cango Ostrich Farm where you can see these unique creatures up close, and the more adventurous can ride one of these huge birds.

Day 8 Stellenbosch (B)

Today we visit the Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa. Set amongst hundreds of square kilometers of manicured vineyards, you will embark on a wine tasting tour to try some of South Africa's finest.

Day 9 Cape Town (B)

Return to Cape Town, one of the world's most beautiful cities. Spend the afternoon enjoying the views from atop of Table Mountain, catching up on last-minute curio shopping, laze on the beach, and enjoy a fantastic sunset over the Atlantic Ocean.
