Itinerary

Day 1 Windhoek

Arrive in Windhoek at any time.

Day 2-3 Sossusvlei (2B,L,2D)

Start the long journey towards Sossusvlei (a clay pan, enclosed by the world’s largest sand dunes). With scenic landscape creating a wonderful backdrop backdrop, you will pass a number rural villages en route. Take an optional dune drive excursion on day 2, and continue on day 3 for a guided walk into the dunes. Stop at Sesriem Canyon for breaktaking views and great photo opportunities.

Day 4-5 Swakopmund (B)

Travel through mountain passes towards Swakopmund, passing Walvis Bay, the town that hosts the only deep sea harbour on the Namibian coastline. As this adventure capital of Namibia, Swakopmund offers you plenty of choice for your free time here - sandboarding, skydiving, boating, horseback riding, parasailing, and much more.

Day 6 Khorixas (D)

Making couple stops in the Twyfelfontein (meaning doubtful fountain) area west of Khorixas, enjoy a varied combination of activities in a region that contains various historical art and archaelogical sites. Stop at the facinating "White Lady" rock paintings and Burnt Mountain, where you can see the sharp contracts of coloured rocks against the grey-black surroundings. In addition, enjoy guided walks to the Bushman Carvings and at the Petrified Forest.

Day 7-8 Etosha National Park (2B,2D)

Get ready for spectacular wildlife! Depart early for Etosha National Park, covering over 22,000sq km, it is one of largest and best game parks in Africa. Spend the days on game drives heading eastward through the park, in search of the numerous resident lions, rhinos, elephants, black-faced impala, kudu, giraffes. Don't forget the over 3000 species of birds. A definite highlight.

Day 9-10 Caprivi (2B,L,2D)

It is worth the journery north to Caprivi National Park, Namibia's version of the Okavango Delta with clear flowing streams and Lush Islands. Visit a local village and take a boat cruise, and for the more adventurous take an optional traditional mokoro (dugout canoe) excursion. In the evenings, listen to the sounds of the African wild from the comfort of your chalet.

Day 11 Rundu (B,D)

This northern city is the capital of the Okavango Region, and boasts some beautiful spots on the Okavango River to view a spectacular sunset. Take the opportunity to relax, do some horseback riding, or even visit a local community and school.

Day 12 Otjiwarongo (B,D)

Otjiwarongo, or "Pleasant Place" or "Place Where Fat Cattle Graze", depending on who you ask, is an area where mountainous rocks rise out of the flat earth like ice cream cones. It is home to the Cheetah Conservation Fund, an important organization that focuses on the conservation and managemnet of the world's cheetahs.

Day 13 Windhoek (B)

Travel back to Namibia's capital, where you can spend some time exploring the German-era colonial architecture of the city, or relax and enjoy the final evening of a fantastic trip.
