Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Banff (D)

Depart early from Banff to the remote wilderness lodge where you will be based for the week.

Day 2-3 Kootenay National Park (2B,2L,2D)

Backpack to a high sub-alpine location among lakes and meadows and set up base camp. After a restful night, venture out to explore the spectacular scenery. Climb above the tree line to a series of alpine plateaus, meadows and sub alpine lakes.

Day 4 Cross River (B,L,D)

Descend from our spiritual journey in the Rockies back to the Cross River where we will meet the lodge's Native Elder of the First Nations who will welcome us all to our Teepee encampment. Enjoy the evening and relax by the fire, listening to the wisdom of the Elder.

Day 5-6 Cross River (2B,2L,2D)

Learn about cultural awareness and experience the teachings of the First Nations Elder. Take a medicine walk to harvest natural medicines, and take part in a traditional activity whether it be food smoking, hide tanning or a number of other native experiences. Take part in a purification lodge ceremony that clears and refreshes your spirit, mind and body. At night, we will create a fire to enjoy music and to learn how the First Nations Culture has developed a strong connection with the earth and natural world.
