Polar Bear Photo Tour
Photographers have flocked to Churchill for many years to take advantage of the nature encounters this remarkable region has to offer. This new, special photography expedition is designed to provide the very best polar bear photo opportunities available. From the newly-constructed Tundra Lodge, situated outside of Churchill on the tundra itself, you can photograph bears as they approach your Âhotel. An on-site vehicle will be available for daily excursions around the tundra, and accompanying you will be some of the most accomplished photography leaders, all of whom have extensive experience shooting in Churchill!

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Winnipeg
Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel where you gather for an informal dinner and orientation at 7:00pm. DDay 2: Winnipeg to Churchill / Tundra Lodge
You will fly to Churchill and transfer to your Tundra Lodge via tundra vehicle, taking care to photograph along the way. This afternoon and evening you will have your first opportunities for bear viewing. You will also have a chance to gather and meet your photo tour leaders, to share experiences and discuss Arctic photography. B,L,DDays 3-6: Tundra Lodge
As the Tundra Lodge is mobile, it is strategically positioned at the beginning of each season in the best area for bear viewing. During your time spent on the tundra, you will have wonderful early morning and late afternoon/evening photo opportunities, giving you a unique chance to photograph these animals at sunrise and sunset. Since the lodge has plenty of common space  a "great room" with tables and chairs as well as a dining car, each with sliding windows  photographers will have plenty of space for shooting at will. Bears often come within close range and approach the lodge, which is also equipped with fenced observation decks to accommodate your own curiosity. Your unique location, combined with the opportunity for half-day excursions around the tundra in the on-site tundra vehicle, afford you some of the best possible wildlife experiences in the Churchill area. At the end of a day of exploration, you can retire to our warm, comfortable accommodations for dinner and presentations. If youÂre lucky, the northern lights may grace you with their eerie presence in the nighttime skies, and the glowing eyes of Arctic fox, bears, and other wildlife may be visible in the light your hotel casts across the frozen ground. B,L,DDay 7: Churchill / Winnipeg
This morning, you bid a fond farewell to your tundra home and head back into town for your flight to Winnipeg. Depending on flight schedules, you may have some time for last minute exploration and a chance to pick up Arctic souvenirs. You will enjoy a farewell lunch in Churchill or dinner in Winnipeg. After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your return flights home. BTrip Details

It accommodates up to 35-plus travelers. Trips are limited to approximately 28 travelers. Each room is a single compartment similar to a room on a train and there are 3 general toilets and 2 showers. The lounge and dining areas have sliding windows, perfect for bear viewing and photography. The Tundra Lodge provides an extremely comfortable and private northern expedition experience.Included:R/T flight from Winnipeg to Churchill; accommodations; all meals (except either lunch or dinner on your final day in Churchill); services of professional Expedition Leaders and assistants; all activities/entrance fees; evening wildlife and cultural presentations; all taxes and service charges.Not Included:Travel to and from Winnipeg; lunch or dinner on your final day in Churchill; alcoholic beverages; gratuities; travel insurance; items of a personal nature (telephone calls, laundry, etc.). |
