Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Buenos Aires

Arrive in Buenos Aires at any time.

Day 2 Buenos Aires to Ushuaia

Fly south from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia. Free afternoon in the world’s southernmost city.

Day 3 Tierra del Fuego National Park

Enjoy a morning tour of Tierra del Fuego National Park before boarding the M/V Polaris in the afternoon.

Day 4-5 Drake Passage

Enjoy interesting lectures as we cross the infamous Drake Passage. Keep your eyes out on deck for seabirds and whales!

Day 6-9 Antarctic Peninsula & South Shetland Islands

Experience some of the best wildlife viewing and scenery in the world as you set foot on the Antarctic continent. Take two excursions per day (conditions permitting), and encounter Gentoo, Chinstrap and Adélie penguin rookeries, Weddell, Crabeater and Leopard seals, and Orca, Humpback and Minke whales in the cold Antarctic waters.

Day 10-11 Drake Passage

Begin the journey north back to Ushuaia. Enjoy great meals and reflect on our memorable adventure during our final two days at sea. Review the highlights of our Antarctic experience with our lecturers and staff, and keep your eyes open on the observation deck for some final whale sightings.

Day 12 Ushuaia to Buenos Aires

Disembark after breakfast and transfer by bus to the airport for your included flight to Buenos Aires.

Day 13 Buenos Aires

Today is free to explore Buenos Aires, known as the Paris of the Americas. Wander the plazas and museums or sit at a local cafe and reminisce about your Antarctic experience. In the evening join your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner and traditional Tango show.

Accommodation Hotel (4 nts), Onboard the M/V Polaris there are twin-share cabins and suites, (all with ensuite bathrooms some with port holes) (9 nts). Please note that all cabins consist of two beds: Category 1 and 2 are have upper and lower berths, Category 3 has side by side beds. Double beds are available in Category 4, subject to availability.
