Ghana (MAD) Project - 42 days

Itinerary

Days 1-2 Accra/Rural Project

Meet with your group and leader for the first time in bustling Accra, then set off to your new village home. Travel out past valleys and rolling savannah to the village where you'll be greeted bu community representatives. Unpack, explore your surrounds, see the building site and prepare for the fantastic adventure ahead!

Days 3-14 Teaching and Building

Split your days between buildling and teaching as you get into the swing of local life. At the end of the first week there's time to play. Head to the nearest town beach or Accra for a weekend of well earned rest. Back at the village throw yourself back into the buildling and teaching work and really start to become a part of the community.

Days 15-27 Cultural Development

There's plenty of time to create side projects with the community. Set up a sports programme, paint an educational mural or join the adults in their cooperative groups, teaching them English or learning traditional dances and weaving.

Days 28-41 Local Expert

As your building work progresses, you'll really see your hard work paying off. Take time out from buildling and teaching to get to know the local families. Share a meal, learn how to make palm wine and trade songs and stories.

Day 42 Accra

The adventure comes to an end back in Accra. Leave your Ghanian home with memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
