Thailand (MAD) Project - 42 days

Itinerary

Day 1 Chiang Mai/Rural Project

The adventure begins in Thailand's steamy northern capital, Chiang Mai. Start the day with a group meeting before hitting the road and heading up north to your new rural home.

Day 2 Village

Take an optional tour of the village and school to get a feel for what local life will hold. Meet the school community and locals you'll be working alongside. Take a good look at the building site - it won't look like this for long!

Days 3-13 Teaching and Building

Get stuck in to your building and teaching roles - swapping between the two during the day. There'll be plenty of time to take breaks and learn the local dialect from your foreman.

Days 14-27 Cultural Development

Take the opportunity to develop side projects. Join the adults in their cooperative groups, teaching them English or learning traditional dances and weaving. Throw yourself back into art classes, building or playing sports with your new local friends (adults and children alike).

Days 28-41 Local Expert

When you're not building or teaching, get involved in everyday village life. Share meals with families you have worked alongside, make a mural with the kids at school and perhaps take time out to visit local temples.

Day 42 Chiang Mai

Your Thailand project sadly comes to an end. Admire the hard work you've put into the building, say goodbye to the kids and celebrate your new friendships with your team members and the community. Return to Chiang Mai.
