Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Quito

Boutique HotelArrive in Quito, Ecuador and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight in Quito at a boutique hotel.

Day 2: Quito

Boutique HotelToday is at your leisure. A variety of day tours are available for purchase. Overnight in Quito at a boutique hotel.

Day 3: Baltra / North Seymour Island- Cruise Only Starts

Depart Quito or Guayaquil this morning for your flight to Baltra. Upon arrival, you are transfered to the Beagle. This afternoon, visit North Seymour Island where you spend a few hours ashore observing sea lions, blue-footed boobies, magnificent frigate birds and, if time permits, snorkeling.

Day 4: South Plaza Island / Santa Fe Island

This morning, explore South Plaza Island where there are colonies of sea lion colonies and land iguanas, and a great number of birds such as swallow-tailed gulls, and red-billed tropic birds. From atop the high banks, you’ll find a beautiful view, or simply enjoy a walk along the base of the cliff. In the afternoon, explore Santa Fe Island. Thought of as the oldest island in the Galapagos, Santa Fe is one of the best locations for swimming with sea lions and catching glimpse of the sea turtle and Galápagos White-tipped Shark.

Day 5: Española Island

This morning, explore Punta Suarez and look for large colonies of blue-footed boobies, masked boobies, marine iguanas, albatrosses, and swallow-tailed gulls. Later, head to Garder Bay, also on Española, to enjoy a panga ride and more snorkeling time.

Day 6: Santa Cruz Island

This morning, stop in Puerto Ayora to visit the Charles Darwin Research Center where scientists, park rangers and park managers work to preserve and protect the Galapagos Islands, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Station is also home to a tortoise breeding and rearing center. You may also take some time to walk through town for some souvenir shopping. This afternoon, visit the island's highlands, home to extinct volcanoes and fascinating plants. You may visit Los Gemelos (“The Twins”), a pair of large craters or sinkholes, or you may also visit the largest lava tubes found in Galapagos, with a length of up to 2 kilometers.

Day 7: Floreana Island

This morning at Punta Cormorant on Floreana, visit a lagoon home to pink flamingos. Later, visit the famous historic post office in Post Office Bay. In 1793 British whalers set up the Post Office barrel to send letters to and from England, and today, visitors can post their cards to anywhere in the world.

Day 8: Santiago Island / Bartolome Island

Visit Puerto Egas on Santiago Island for a coastal walk exploring the variety of marine tidal life and Galapagos fur seals. This afternoon, explore Bartolomé and hike to the summit for a beautiful panoramic view of Pinnacle Rock. Swim and snorkel in the afternoon.

Day 9: Genovesa Island

At El Barranco, also known as Prince Philip’s Steps, climb to a plateau that is part of the stretch of land that surrounds Darwin Bay on its eastern side. Here, you can observe are Masked and Red-footed boobies in the trees. In the afternoon, explore the white sandy beach of Darwin Bay. Admire the green mangroves, small lagoons and prickly pear cacti, as well as a variety of wildlife such as Red-footed boobies, frigates, yellow-crowned night heron, and playful sea lions. You may take some time to snorkel in the bay as well.

Day 10: Santa Cruz Island / Baltra Island / Disembark / Quito - Cruise Only Ends

Boutique HotelThis morning, you make a final stop at Black Turtle Cove on Santa Cruz Island. Here, you may see marine turtles, manta eels, a large variety of heron, and typical coastal vegetation. Next, you motor to Baltra, arriving in time to catch your flight to Quito. This afternoon is at your leisure. Overnight in Quito at a boutique hotel.

Day 11: Quito / Home

This morning, transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
