Itinerary
Days 1-2 Santiago
Warm up for the hiking ahead with a walk through Santiago's compact city centre to see plazas, cathedrals, shops and parks all with a distinctly European flavour. Take the time to head up hill by cable car to Cerro San Cristobal for views out over the sprawling city or leave the city behind altogether to spend a day among Chile's wineries.Days 3-5 Pucon
Arrive early to make the most of every moment in this adventure filled town. Gaze up at the Volcan Villarrica from the street level, on day 4 you'll be hiking to its smoky peak. This is a challenging hike but your efforts are more than rewarded when you reach the top. Rest your weary legs the following day or for those who just can't get enough active adventure try your hand at mountain biking, white water rafting, climbing or fly fishing.Days 6-10 Bariloche
Cross the border discover another year-round playground for outdoor enthusiasts, this time in Bariloche, Argentina. This picturesque town set is among snow-dusted mountains and a postcard-perfect lake. If you can't decide between hiking, biking or skiing (in season) then mull it over while taking part in one of Bariloche's other great past times; eating chocolate. The following day begins an adventure through some of Argentina's most beautiful countryside. Hike the aptly named Clouds' Path through hilly but spectacular terrain, camp under a crisp Argentinean sky and sail along the waterways of the Lake District back to the welcoming city of Bariloche.Days 11-12 Cordoba
Get a taste of rural life on a local estancia (ranch). You can be as hands on as you wish taking part in training horses, grooming them and of course riding them. For those who'd prefer non-equestrian activities there are plenty of hiking trails to explore through neighbouring reserves.Days 13-15 Buenos Aires
Surround yourself in the Latin passion of Argentina's cultural heart, Buenos Aires. Stroll the elegant streets, explore the distinctive neighbourhoods, each with their own style and discover churches, vibrant markets and historic buildings on an orientation walk. After a day of exploration you might like to settle down at one of the many streetside cafes to prepare yourself for a night of tango at one of the many milongas.Trip Details
