Itinerary

Day 1: Juneau / Embarkation

Step aboard the Safari Legacy where champagne and hors d'oeurves are served with a smile. Cruise south, leaving the city lights behind and anchor in a wilderness cove.

Day 2: Glaciers and Fjords

The Dawes Glacier, located 30 miles into Alaska's coastal mountains is your destination this morning. Board the high speed tender to weave through icebergs and watch seals and sea birds at home in their wilderness fjord. Later, you'll go kayaking as the day draws to a close while your yacht lays at anchor.

Day 3: Ford's Terror Wilderness and Stephens Passage

Today you'll take your time viewing majestic scenery, visiting remote inlets, and watching for eagles, bear, deer and seals. Later, cruise through Stephens Passage, keeping a sharp eye out for humpback whales.

Day 4: Frederick Sound and Keku Islands

You'll be in prime whale waters today. Your Expedition Leader will discuss these gentle giants with you, revealing how and where they live and why this area is so rich in whales. Step ashore for a guided nature walk, or spend your time kayaking around your scenic anchorage this evening.

Day 5: Waterfalls, Warm Springs and Fishing

Discover what others rarely see "off the beaten path" of Southwest Alaska. You'll explore hidden coves and impressive fjords along the remote shores of Kupreanof and Baranof Islands. Later, stop into the tiny hamlet of Warm Springs Bay where you'll hike to a pristine lake, or soak in the natural warm springs. Perhaps, after dinner you’ll want to drop a fishing line!

Day 6: Tenakee Hot Springs

A town with no roads and a population of 100 is our destination today. Retirees and artists call Tenakee Springs home, along with bald eagles and black bears. You'll take time to stroll the boardwalk and talk with the locals before anchoring in a hidden cove.

Day 7: Elfin Cove and Fishing

Welcome to the "real Alaska." Elfin Cove, tucked away in a nook on the shoreline, boasts a population of about 30. Discover what life is like here before venturing out to fish and search for humpback whales. Tonight you'll celebrate with a festive Farewell Dinner.

Day 8: Disembark in Juneau

After breakfast this morning you'll transfer you to the Juneau airport for connections home.
