Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Delhi

Arrive in Delhi at any time. You are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.

Days 2-4 Corbett National Park (B,L,D)

Early this morning you will be collected from your hotel for the 275km drive to Corbett National Park (approx 5-6 hours). You will travel in an air conditioned vehicle, accompanied by a driver. Upon arrival you will check in at your accommodation and be briefed on the followng day's schedule of game viewing.Once a popular hunting ground of the British, this 201 square mile park was named in honor of the late Jim Corbett, the legendary hunter-naturalist turned author and photographer who spent many years in this area and was instrumental in setting up the park. After lunch set off on a jeep safari through the dense jungles of the park and keep your eyes peeled for wildlife.Days 3 and 4 will feature jeep and elephant safaris into the Corbett National Park. You will take an early morning elephant safari through the open Chaurs (grasslands) and dense forests by an unconventional route. Elephant safari is possibly the best option for wildlife viewing as it has minimal impact on the park's wildlife and creates the least disturbance to their environment. Return to the complex for breakfast and then jump in a jeep to drive to the scenic lake area to catch sight of Marsh crocodile basking in the sun. Visit the Jhirnajhali area for viewing the famous Gharial - the fish eating crocodile. Return for lunch and some rest or opt for spending the afternoon on a watchtower overlooking a water hole. On all safaris and game viewing you will be accompanied by an expert guide.

Day 5 Depart Delhi (B)

Enjoy another jeep safari to explore the Park for your last chance to sight more elephants, spotted deer, serpent eagles, great pied hornbill or maybe even a tiger! You will return to the hotel for breakfast and then travel back to Delhi where you will be transferred to either your hotel or the airport depending on your onward travel plans.
