Types of Correspondents

We enjoy hearing other travellers’ experiences from their time away from home. Anyone wanting to share their knowledge of an area, their love of travel, or some great tips they picked up along the way can find somewhere to become a writer for BootsnAll.com.

1. Online Travel Guide

Our correspondents are members of the BootsnAll.com travel network. On a monthly basis they submit 500+ word articles of what’s happening in their city (eg: Chicago), State/Province (eg: British Columbia), or region (eg: SE Asia).

This position is typically the most demanding of the three. For consistency, we ask that you follow a template to a reasonable amount and be prepared to complete updates monthly. To learn more, read on here.

2. Travel Stories

Many of our members have experiences that could be beneficial, or just plain funny, to other members and would like to share. These travel stories don’t have to be submitted on a monthly basis. This section is often suited to one-off contributions or a very mobile traveller.

3. Travelogues

Logs of your travels. Pretty simple actually. A “what happened” type story usually with multiple entries. Having a different angle on your trip often creates excitement for the readers as well. Do you have an idea for a travelogue or did you just complete a trip that you feel might be suited for the travelogue section? Let us know by e-mailing us.

4. Odds’n'Ends

Odds’n'Ends is for everything else related to travel that is not a story or a guide. Things such as making money overseas, programs or organisations that help people live/work overseas, visa stuff, tips of various nature, or commentary on the travel scene would fit into this category. This type of correspondent is similar to the travel story one in that a monthly commitment is not needed.

We ask that all articles are submitted in a digital format (ie: email or Word doc attachment), preferably HTML.

If all this technical jargon is confusing to you, just e-mail the article to us by typing the article into the body of an e-mail addressed to articles@BootsnAll.com
