Hotels in Acapulco
Airport
Several luxury hotels – the Fairmont Princess, the Mayan Palace, and the Pierre Marqués are near the airport but transportation into Acapulco is expensive. As you enter the bay area from the airport, you pass another luxury hotel, Las Brisas. It has an excellent view of the Bay, but unfortunately lacks any direct access to the sea.
East
Three very good hotels near the Convention Center are the Hyatt, the Elcano and the Copacabana, all of which have wide, clean beaches and great pools. The Continental (formerly Acapulco Hilton) is right at Diana Circle and is also very good.
Central
Nearer the center of the City, and somewhat less expensive, are the Hotel Costa Club and the Paraíso Las Glorias (which used to be the Marriott). The Hotel Bali Hai, across the Costera from the Costa Club is a two story motel built around a good sized patio. Good choice if you're driving because you can park just outside your room. Good beach only a block away.
Downtown
The Marina Hotel, between the Zócalo and Caleta, has bungalows set in lovely gardens. No beach, but great facilities and a reasonable price in a good location. Good choice if you're ariving by car. Plenty of off-street parking.
Economical
There are dozens of inexpensive hotels near the Zócalo and Caleta Beach: Enrique's, near the CROM; the Añorve, one block away from the beach; and La Misión, which used to be the American Consulate and boasts a really nice patio, are only three examples. Hotel San Francisco, on the Costera near Playa Langosta, usually has double rooms for US$10 per night.
