Los Sabalos Resort Hotel

If ya got the bucks, stay at Los Sabalos. This place is THE spot. You’re not only on the beach in the heart of the Golden Zone but also right next door to Joe’s Oyster Bar (see Bars page). These guys will even pick you up at the airport in a white Limo. Prices run from $85.00 to $300.00 a night depending on when and what. You can get all the info you need at www.lossabalos.com. I envy you.

Azteca Inn
This place is also in the thick of things in the zone. It’s not, however, on the beach. It’s across the street but I’ve stayed there and I recommend it for the money. It’ll run between $36.00 and $78.00. Right next door is the Gringo Lingo Bar. You can get all info on the Inn at www.aztecainn.com.mx.

Las Jacarandas
This is a great old place just minutes from the Zone. Great little open air seafood joint next door with 50 cent beers. Priced from $9.00 to $35.00. They have kitchenettes.

Alternative Lodgings
If your headin’ down here for a week or more and you don’t have a hotel arranged, you may want to consider alternative lodgings. By that I mean B&Bs, apartments, or if you have a group of two or more even renting a condo can work out cheaper than a hotel especially if you’re willing (able) to do your own cooking.

There are also any number of ‘Guest Houses’ where you rent a portion of the house that will at the very least include bedrooms and bathrooms. These are my favorites. Most of these are in the older part of town but usually not more than a couple blocks from the beach. They are run by some of the friendliest folks you’d ever want to meet and usually include air conditioning and daily maid service.
