Well, June is bustin’ out all over and so are the outdoor festivals in Toronto.

  • June 7-9
    North by Northeast Music Festival
    Dozens of artists perform at clubs across the city over a three-day period. For information, surf onto www.nxne.com.

  • June 10
    Festival on Bloor
    This is a lively stretch of Bloor Street – from Spadina to Bathurst – known locally as “the Annex”. The street will be filled with live music, street performers, children’s entertainment, and food.

  • June 14-17
    BuskerFest
    This will be four days and nights of comedy, showmanship and performances. Bringing the flavour of Europe to Toronto, over 20 world-class buskers (street entertainers) will compete for laughs and applause on the streets of Toronto.   • June 15-23
    Toronto International Festival Caravan
    Toronto’s many cultures are displayed and shared with the public in a nine-day event full of shows, food, music and dance. See www.toronto.com for updated details at the beginning of June.

  • June 22-July 1
    The Downtown Jazz Festival
    This is the 15th annual Jazz Festival in the heart of the city, which fills 10 days of rhythms and variations of “bop” and “blues”.

    Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival

    In French Canada, this is La Fete de St Jean also known as La Fete Nationale. (or John the Baptist Day) . The Centre Francophone in Toronto has its annual wingding in honour of the saint. Check the local papers or call Harbourfront for more details.
