Soul Surfer in Europe #5: Last Night in the Countryside

Thursday, May 18th
Thank God it’s over….I have spent the last two nights freezing my bum off in the cold rain of Holland with only a tent and a fleece sleeping blanket. I was so relieved to get back to the city to shower and shave and see my bed!

I have to say since I’ve been on the road the people I have met from England and the UK have made my trip a true joy! They always make me feel like one of them whenever I’m around. Tonight I plan on sitting in the hostel and enjoying the company of a bunch of burn outs…just kidding, they are all nice people.

The longer I stay here the more I feel a part of what is going on around me. The first impression was definitely off. I guess first impressions aren’t always best. Oh my God, they are playing eminem and dr. dre on the sound system here at the internet cafe. Makes me feel like home!

Tonight was pretty laid back. We spent the evening in the hostel just talking and comparing travel stories. The weather here has changed to the worse…it is now raining and kind of cold but that is fine with me there are plenty of warm vibrant places such as “Siberia“, a coffee shop. The people at this shop are very nice. I asked for a sticker and they gave me a huge stack for free, so guys when I get back I have a sticker for everyone!

Oh well, thanks for everyone who has been sending me responses from the travelogue and thanks BnA for giving me the opportunity to bring everyone with me! I will write
more tomorrow…..
